Idle State – NC Underfloor Heating Actuator (Not Activated):
By default, the NC (Normally Closed) actuator is in a closed position, meaning the circuit is shut, and hot water flow is not allowed through the underfloor heating system.
Activation of the NC Underfloor Heating Actuator:
When the temperature control system detects that the floor temperature needs to be reduced, it sends a signal to the actuator to open. The NC actuator responds to this signal by switching to the open state.
Active State – NC Underfloor Heating Actuator (Open):
When the actuator is activated, it opens and allows the fluid (typically hot water from a central heating system) to be diverted away from the underfloor heating circuit. This reduces or interrupts the flow of hot water to the floor, which results in a lower floor temperature and, consequently, a cooler room temperature.
By using Qsmart NC actuators, the underfloor heating system can be precisely controlled to maintain a comfortable room temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached, the actuator closes again, allowing hot water to flow back into the underfloor heating circuit and maintain a stable temperature.
